Is It Good Idea To Install Soundproof Padding Under Nailed 1/2″ Bamboo Floors?

I’m installing these bamboo floors on the second floor in my house and want to make sure when someone walks on the second floor it will not make too much sound on the first, you think it’s a good idea to install trafficmaster’s paddding before nailing the floor?

I would like to know the pros and cons of bamboo flooring in a dry climate (Arizona). A guy told me that it cracks if not in a humid climate, But do you think having a humidifier in the house would help? Also, These floors would be in a vacation home and would not have regular use.

I want to install light-colored Bamboo floors in my new home, but I have been advised against it. My floor guy tells me that every light-colored Bamboo floor he has seen looks bad, and says the gaps between panels give the floor a shiny effect. I want to know if anyone has light bamboo floor in their home, and the pros and cons of it. Also, I am thinking of going through Lumber Liquidators. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I recently built a new large home and made the mistake of listening to my interior designer and choose black bamboo hardwood floors in many areas of the home. I agree it looks beautiful when clean but it is so hard to clean and it seems to scratch easy even though its supposed to be commercial grade. I am going to be remodeling my basement and am concerned about what to put on the floors. I am thinking about bamboo. However, if the water heater ever breaks and floods the room, will the floor be damaged or can I just mop it up? Is the only sure form of not losing the floor to water damage stained concrete?

Cleaning Bamboo Flooring?

How do you clean bamboo flooring?
We just got new bamboo flooring and without reading directions to clean them we used murphy’s oil. Afterwards we found out that we should not used oil-based products to clean it but the oil/shine won’t leave the floor and wherever we walk it leaves scuff marks.
How do i get rid of this?
I’ve already tried diluting it more but it’s not working.
